The Illithid threat is one of the gradual infiltration of their malignancy. The Illithids, also known as Mind Flayers, are known to infect other races to repopulate their numbers, even infecting powerful creatures like Dragons when possible. Many different variations of Illithids have arose ever since they arrived in our realms, but they always seem to survive despite frequent attempts to root them out. Part of this is due to their powerful psychic abilities, allowing them to easily read minds, charm people as well as more obvious applications of force.
